Bresson was born on August 22, 1908 in Chanteloup-en-Brie, France. Bresson always had a camera with him which meant that he was able to take pictures of the decisive moment(millisecond) out of the hour.He is famous for his street photography and thought that a camera is an extension of the eye.He has both photographed famous and ordinary people and travelled around the world to do this.When he takes a photographs he thinks of geometry and the image has to be well composed.He doesn't consider himself a photographer.

Others that have been inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson: Raymond Depardon-He was born in 6th July 1942. He is a French photographer, photojournalist and documentary filmmaker. He travelled to conflict zones including Algeria, Vietnam, Biafra and Chad. In 1966, Depardon co-founded the photojournalism agency Gamma. Later,he left Gamma to become a Magnum associate, then a full member in 1979. |
