Francis Bruguiere( 1879-1945)
Bruguiere was an American photographer. He was born in San Francisco, California, United States to a weathly banking family and was privately educated. In 1918, he moved to New York City where he made his living by photographing for Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar. He uses paper and transforms it into something unexpected and unusual. And there is no way of telling that his abstractions are made of paper as they look like mirrors and don't resemble anything.I love his work but it frustrates me as I can't tell what it is supposed to be but visually it looks amazing. |
Vjeko Sager
He makes sharp cuts into paper but rather then light being his other formal element of focus it appears to be texture of the paper and sometimes he uses pencil to shade to around the cuts to create the illusion of shadows. Also I noticed that he uses different papers to show different textures. |
Tamara Lorenz
Tamara Lorenz is a German photographer and artist.Tamara uses vibrant colour and geometric shapes in her work. Her work is appealing because it is 3D and the bright colours stand out.Her work looks more like art than photographs. |
My inspired work
Personally I don't enjoy abstract photography, as I prefer to look at and take pictures of people and things. However, I can understand and appreciate the attraction that others have, and it was a good experience to do this work and learn some new skills.
